Unique Duck Flats Kayak -

3 hours Tour Cost - $55

An exciting and educational paddle over the calm waters of duck flats in our double or triple person sea kayaks. This 3 hour excursion includes on land instruction and guided sea kayaking. From our dock in the small boat harbor, the group will paddle into the calm protected waters of Duck Flats. The path of the tour will follow a chain of small Islands recognized for their nesting birds and sun bathing seals. Paddling into the depths of Duck Flats will bring us to the nesting sites of Bald Eagles and ravens. Enjoy the discussions of natural history as well as the history of Valdez. This is a wonderful paddle for first time paddlers having a short time frame.

Gold Creek Kayak Coastal Journey -

6 hours Tour Cost - $99

Starting from the small boat harbor we will venture into Prince William Sound on a coastal exploration to Gold Creek State Park. The paddle will treat us to sights of seals, sea lions and sea otters. Enjoy this more remote paddle to a wonderful beach for a picnic lunch. Hike through ancient rain forests to cascading waterfalls. Keep your eyes out for black bears and jumping salmon. The return to Valdez will follow the same route back to the small boat harbor. This tour is an excellent choice for those who have a longer day but do not wish to spend the money for the Shoup Glacier Tour.

Shoup Glacier Kayak Day Tour -

8 hours Tour Cost - $169

The Shoup Glacier Day tour offers an intimate experience at one of Prince William Sounds' many calving tide water glaciers. Climb aboard our motor boat for a taxi ride to Shoup Bay where we will begin this scenic journey. Over the course of the day we will paddle past floating ice, past a nesting colony of Black-Legged Kittiwakes, and up to the face of the glacier. Enjoy a short walk on the beach and a lunch spot with a colorful glacier view. (You bring your own lunch) At the end of the paddle we will be picked up by the motorboat for the ride back to Valdez.

Here is how the schedule works on this 8 hour trip.
Hour 1 - Gear up and Instruction
Hour 2 - Motorboat water taxi ride to Shoup Bay
Hour 3-4 - Kayak from the boat to the face of the glacier
Hour 5 - A one hour lunch break on the beach by the glacier
Hour 6-7 Two more hours of kayaking back out of the bay to the motorboat pick-up
Hour 8- The ride back to Valdez

Columbia Glacier Kayak & Wildlife Cruise

10 Hours Tour Cost - $229
Guides Choice Offering the best wildlife, the best paddling in icebergs and incredible scenery. Columbia Glacier is Alaska's second largest tidewater glacier. Since the early 1980's, the glacier has been retreating catastrophically off of the terminal Moraine leaving an 8 mile long field of floating ice in front of it. On this kayak day tour, we get dropped off close to the moraine of the glacier to go sea kayaking into the icebergs. We take a lunch break and a short hike on the glaciers' moraine. After the break we continue exploring the coastline by kayak The water taxi will bring us back to Valdez after 5 hours of activity.

Here is how the schedule works on this 10 hour trip.
Hour 1 - Gear up and Instruction
Hour 2-3 - Motorboat water taxi ride to Heather Bay
Hour 4-5 - Kayak from the boat along the coastline and to the Moraine of the glacier
Hour 6 - A one hour lunch break on moraine overlooking the ice filed
Hour 7-8 Two more hours of kayaking back out of the ice to the motorboat pick-up
Hour 9-10 The ride back to Valdez

This tour is offered 7 days a week! We use Stan Stephens Wildlife Cruises as our water taxi on various days throughout the summer. Larger groups may request to use Stan Stephens Tour boat in advance! We use our own USCG inspected water taxi on other days.

Don't want to Kayak? We would be happy to book your trip aboard the cruise cruise. Only $160 per person. This is a great way to spend the day with your friends and family who do want to kayak. Minimum of 3 cruisers on a trip otherwise cruisers may choose a Stan Stephens Cruise.
